Building environmental protection awareness in a great way
Will certainly help us to live to see a brighter day
We would have less need for picketing for our voices to be heard
As we sit and wonder if our leaders even heard a word
They would be aware of the need for environmental care from an early age
So we would have no need to talk about the issues, we wouldn’t need to encourage
When we plan for a green future our children will be told
They will know all about going green before they learn bad habits and get old
We will see less pollution, deforestation and destruction
When we go green and live with new instructions
However, if we don’t make steps towards the change we need to make
We could keep on living in a destructive way, we will be making a mistake
Setting the wrong examples for the children so they can have the same problems we see
Is not what we should be doing, since it is so good to make it to a place where we are problem free
There are islands sinking at this time and some people are trying to live on water
Some children are deeply concerned, their childhood is not filled with fun and laughter
So let us start planning for a green future today
We can show the children how to go green and live in a great way
We don’t have time to wait for a better plan
The children should be told that they can
Yes they can learn why recycling is a good thing to do
And how using reusable things will help them to make it through
They can begin making more toys with plastic waste
We don’t have time to think about it, so make haste
Children can be a part of the team that is trying to save the earth
They want to have a bright future, let us tell them what environmental protection is worth
Plastic pollution and deforestation is causing the destruction of our only home
Our leaders and business people seem to think we can leave earth and decide to roam
Take another look at the devastation that was created by humans one day
Nothing will change if we don’t make a great effort
We won’t even allow the other creatures who are on earth to live in a great way
Planning for a green future while we change our ways is the only great idea I see
We need to plan and look forward to the end of the pollution of the land and sea
Nothing will change if we don’t make a greater effort each day
The problems we have created will simply stay
When we tell our children how to use climate solutions
We are planning for a green future and making valuable contributions
If you don’t think planning for a green future is important
Maybe you are saying hell on earth is what you want
A warming planet is causing life to be unsustainable

I completely agree with your inspiring post, Denise. If as children we were told how to take care of our environment then when they became older they would be changed human beings and our world will be a better place to live. Great post.
