We will be protecting our food, our water and our air
When we spread the word about the need for environmental care
We could see a reduction in pollution and less deforestation
And who knows if we wouldn’t be putting an end to plastic pollution
We won’t know if we won’t even try to do things in a new way
As we work towards seeing a brighter day
We won’t know if the climate crisis could end
If we keep on acting as though the environmentalist is not our friend
If we say we want life on the planet to be better one day
If microplastics are proving to be such a huge problem now
Will the next generation be able to get rid of them somehow?
If we don’t even help them to be aware of what is happening to the environment
Will they know that they need to take another look at what is happening and make a commitment
We can have a clean environment when we change our ways
We can have more organic food to eat, clean water and clean air
We will start protecting the air, water and food that supports life and livelihood
And stop giving in to consumerism so they can work towards having a future that is good
Let us start spreading the word about the need for environmental care
By telling the children here, there and everywhere
They are the ones who will inherit a messed up world if nothing changes soon
Unless they can make plans to desert the earth and live on the moon
But if we stop using toxic landfills and build more waste to energy plants
We could be able to give the children the future that they want
