For many years
No one seemed to care
About the ocean out there
We didn’t reuse, reduce or recycle
We just discarded the old toys and bicycles
We didn’t think we should replant trees
We thought the water at the North pole would always freeze
Thee was no talk about Global warming at all
We didn’t know our backs would be against the wall
When hurricanes and floods started happening more frequently
We started wondering what was happening to the weather recently
And found out the green house gases were not good for the atmosphere
Even though the factories create more jobs, the environment needs care
So let us change the way we pass the information along to our children now
Give them simple books to read about these issues, protecting the environment
is important so let us show them how
